The latter was experiencing its first full year in its new premises, inaugurated in the summer of 2023. “In a context of an overall decline in the birth rate in Switzerland, it is rather satisfactory,” comments Marie Bove, head midwife of the women’s department. -mother-child. The midwifery specialization project, initiated with the launch of the new maternity ward, is also continuing. “Aromatherapy, acupuncture, ultrasounds, prenatal interviews: motivated midwives each have the opportunity to specialize in a field,” she explains.
Increase in births at the Tilleuls clinic
In Bienne, the Tilleuls clinic also announced an increase in the number of births recorded in its establishment. In 2024, 644 babies were born there, 16 more than in 2023. Last year was also marked by the move of the maternity ward to more modern premises.
