Records pile up for Squid Game. After season 1 became the most viewed series of all time on Netflix, season 2 already seems ready to follow the same path, having broken two records in just four days.
Released on December 26, season 2 of Squid Gamefor which fans had predicted these two storylines, has already set two records four days after its release on December 30. Season 2 of the Netflix series thus had the best start on the streaming platform. It topped the list of non-English series on the streaming platform with already 68 million views. This is the record for the highest number of views for a series during its first week of broadcast, which was previously held by season 1 of Wednesday and its 50.1 million views. The series ranks number 1 on the Netflix top in all countries where the streaming platform is available, including France. In this sequel, Gi-hun, player 456, returns, three years after winning the Squid Game. He finally gave up on going to the United States and returns with a new objective for which he unfortunately has to dive back into the mysterious survival game. This time, he will face deadly situations with new participants who all dream of winning the prize of 45.6 billion won (around 30 million euros).
An impressive success for the first season of Squid Game
Upon its discreet release in September 2021, the first season of Squid Gamemade up of nine episodes, did not immediately arouse the same enthusiasm. Squid Game : already a season 3 in preparation
A season 3 is already in preparation, but it will unfortunately mark the finale of Squid Game. Netflix announced the news last July. The other good news for fans is that there will be no need to wait three years since the series should be released this year, “probably in the summer or fall”said series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.
