Tesla Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas: suspect had gunshot wound to head

A Cybertruck exploded in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The body of the suspect, who died following the explosion, had a gunshot wound to the head, discovered investigators who are exploring the theory of a suicide attack.

The investigation is ongoing, and the profile of the suspect in the explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck on Wednesday in Las Vegas, as well as his modus operandi, is becoming clearer. The body found inside the charred vehicle – the only death in this case – has not yet been formally identified pending DNA analyses, Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill said Thursday. “We discovered, thanks to the medical examiner’s office, that the individual had been shot in the head before the vehicle exploded”he announced, however, raising the possibility of suicide.

According to initial findings, which have yet to be confirmed as previously mentioned, the alleged assailant could be Matthew Alan Livelsberger. This 37-year-old soldier is part of the special forces of the American army and was in “permission approved at the time of his death”a Pentagon spokesperson said in a statement. That being said, “the suspect’s motives remain unknown at this stage,” said Spencer Evans, special agent of the FBI, the federal police. “We do not have information that allows us to say with certainty or suggest that this was motivated by a particular ideology”he added at a press conference.
