As the death toll from the terrorist attack that occurred in New Orleans on the night of December 31 to January 1 increases, an American football player, Tiger Bech, has been identified among the victims.
An absolute tragedy which plunged the United States into a deep state of shock. On the night of December 31 to January 1, a man drove into the crowd in the French tourist district of New Orleans (Louisiana).
While the provisional toll of this attack, described as terrorist, shows at least 15 dead, an American footballer was identified among the victims. This is Tiger Bech, 28 years old.
A former player for Princeton University, he was on Bourbon Street, the street where the attack took place this Wednesday. Transported to a New Orleans hospital with serious injuries, the former Princeton University player in New Jersey did not survive.
-An attacker “inspired by DAESH”
The outgoing President of the United States Joe Biden indicated this Wednesday that “barely a few hours before the deadly car-ramming attack” in New Orleans, the suspect, killed by the police, had “published on the networks social videos indicating that he was inspired by Daesh.
A Daesh flag and explosives were found in the vehicle used to commit the killing. These videos also testify to a “desire to kill”, added the American president, who specified that he had this information from the FBI, the federal police, in a short speech from the Camp David residence, near Washington.
The FBI is currently investigating whether the attacker had accomplices.
