Alain Lepage, a 58-year-old resident, was found dead at homefollowing knife wounds. The Neufchâtel-en-Bray gendarmerie company confirmed the information as well as the arrest of an individual.

A murder investigation opened by the public prosecutor’s court

This Thursday, January 2, 2025, the deputy public prosecutor judicial court of Rouen indicated that the accused is a 62-year-old man, born in March 1962. He presented himself to the Longueville-sur-Scie gendarmerie after the fact “to explain that following a dispute he had just stabbed his long-time friend, who had died”.

The person concerned was arrested, heavily intoxicated.

“He explained that he thought his friend was going to hit him and grabbed a knife from the table and struck twice without intending to kill him,” notes the information note sent by the deputy public prosecutor.

The individual was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention.

An investigation was opened at the criminal department of the Rouen public prosecutor’s office for murder by a person in a state of obvious intoxication and thus determine the circumstances of this tragic event. The procedure is in progress.

A known and appreciated resident in the town

Alain Lepage carried out a self-employed automobile maintenance and repair business, as can be seen by the numerous cars present in the courtyard of his home located outside the town.
