In Vietnam, there is another version of Halong Bay and its giant stones planted in the sea. It is located inland, and it is even more beautiful.

Between the river and the rice fields, immense rocks emerge which form what is called Halong Bay on land. Inland from Vietnam, it is less well known than that by the sea. To explore these landscapes, there is nothing better than going up the Ngo Dong River. Here, no large tourist boats, but simple boats. A thousand boatmen work here. Each family has the right to own a boat, which allows the entire community to benefit equally from the economic benefits of this local tourism.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014, Halong Bay on land is the dream setting for the cinema, as in the film Indochina with Catherine Deneuve. Climbing the hundreds of steps that lead to the top one by one allows you to enjoy a view that embraces the entire bay. These mountainous landscapes were also the ramparts of the country’s first feudal capital.
