A Tesla Cybertruck, Elon Musk’s pickup truck, exploded Wednesday morning in front of the Trump hotel in Las Vegas, killing one person and lightly injuring seven others, local police said.
“There is a deceased person inside the Cybertruck,” said the Las Vegas police sheriff during a press conference broadcast by ABC. The police officer also mentions seven people suffering from “minor injuries” following what he described as a “large explosion”.
Elon Musk, boss of Tesla, declared on his social network X that his teams were investigating. “We have never seen anything like this,” continued Elon Musk, a supporter of President-elect Donald Trump.

This explosion comes a few hours after a former American soldier is suspected of having driven into a crowd in the “Vieux Carré” district of New Orleans, killing at least ten people and injuring 35. Investigators said they found an Islamic State group flag in the vehicle.
