Must-have new releases on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video and Max

The last week of December promises to be full of diversity, offering something for everyone. New releases include a series based on a Harlan Coben novel on Netflix called “Missing You,” a fascinating documentary about a rich man who wants to turn 18 back, called “Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever”, also on Netflix, as well as a brand new film with Wallace and Gromit, “Vengeance Most Fowl”, which will be released on the same platform. In short, there is something to satisfy all audiences.

Harlan Coben’s latest adaptation on Netflix, after “Stay Close”, “Fool Me Once” and “The Stranger”, is inspired by his 2014 novel, “Missing You”. The plot takes place this time in England, with the character of a detective (played by Rosalind Eleazar) who finds himself involved in a mysterious case of a missing woman. What adds to the suspense is that the main suspect is her former fiancé, who left her overnight without explanation and has remained invisible since. This adaptation, written by Victoria Asare-Archer and directed by Nimer Rashed, also stars Jessica Plummer, Richard Armitage, Lenny Henry and Marc Warren. Coben, as executive producer, promises unexpected twists and turns that will keep the viewer in suspense until the end.

What If…? Series finale

Barely a week after its launch on Disney+, the third and final season of the Marvel Studios animated series is coming to an end. For those who don’t know, “What If…?” explores alternate storylines within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with many actors reprising their roles. The last episode, entitled “What If… What If?”, promises new madness. The series has always been entertaining, and we hope it ends on a positive note.

Wallace & Gromit : Vengeance Most Fowl

Wallace and Gromit are back in their new adventure, their first feature film since “Wallace & Gromit: The Mystery of the Were-Rabbit”. In this new story, Wallace (now voiced by Ben Whitehead) and his faithful companion Gromit find themselves at the heart of a revenge plot orchestrated by the evil penguin Feathers McGraw. This one has the same name as the antagonist of the Oscar-winning short film “The Wrong Trousers”. Feathers manages to gain access to Wallace’s revolutionary invention: Norbot, a garden gnome. This feature film uses the saga’s iconic hand-animated style and promises a series of events that are as hilarious as they are unpredictable.

Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever

Netflix’s latest must-see documentary looks at Bryan Johnson, a tech millionaire obsessed with getting younger. Directed by Chris Smith, known for “Wham” and “Tiger King,” the film explores in depth Johnson’s psychology and his journey to live well beyond the typical human life expectancy. An intriguing and rewarding project.

Avicii: I’m Tim

“Lockerbie: A Search for Truth” is one of two competing limited series based on the tragic 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. Based on the book “The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father’s Search for Justice” by Jim Swire and Peter Biddulph, the series stars Colin Firth as Swire, who lost his daughter Flora in the attack, killing 243 passengers and 16 crew members.
