There is indeed a dead sheep in a pile. And other garbage that should have been in a landfill. CACEM came to observe the situation. A few months ago, she started monitoring and warning by installing signs. Incivility has shifted. Elected officials are raising their voices.

Pollution is not just visual. A little further up, the pile even overflows onto the roadway, to the point where buses barely pass.

But for this waste, the environment brigade was able to find the culprit: a company which is not in the territory of Fort-de-France. He was ordered to repair the damage.

In addition to the fine, withdrawal can be charged up to 3000 euros. If the organization of collection needs to be improved with the difficulties of the Martiniquais Waste Treatment and Recovery Union (SMTVD), at the same time, solutions are offered to companies.

CACEM announces other operations like this in Sainte-Thérèse or Ravine Touza in Schœlcher. Cameras and photo traps are installed on sensitive sites.
