Tuchan – Night of thermography: visualize areas of energy weakness

Thermal cameras were used.

The Corbières-Fenouillèdes Regional Natural Park, in collaboration with the CAUE de l'Aude (Architecture, Town Planning and Environment Council), organized a nighttime event around thermography in Tuchan. This event, which brought together 12 participants (residents of the town and members of the Soliha association), made it possible to address the challenges of the energy performance of buildings in a concrete and interactive manner.

A nighttime stroll full of lessons

Armed with two thermal cameras, the participants walked the streets of the village to observe heat loss from buildings in real time. Using these tools, they were able to visualize areas of energy weakness, such as thermal bridges, poorly insulated glazing or airtightness defects. This walk was an opportunity to discuss solutions to improve energy efficiency, in particular the replacement of joinery or the insulation of walls and roofs.

A discussion around concrete solutions

The entertainment continued with a discussion around the observations made during the walk. CAUE and PNR experts answered numerous questions from participants on priority work, available financial assistance and good practices for reducing energy consumption. The discussions served to remind us of the importance of small daily gestures, but also of more substantial work to limit energy losses.

A friendly and educational moment

This Thermography Night is fully in line with the missions of the CAUE de l'Aude, actor of the Guichet Renov and the PNR Corbières-Fenouillèdes: supporting residents towards a sustainable energy transition.

Feedback from participants was positive. Some residents are now considering taking steps to improve the energy performance of their homes. The success of this evening shows the growing interest of residents for concrete and educational actions linked to the energy transition.

Appointments are made for new events in the months to come, in order to continue to raise awareness and support the inhabitants of the region in their approach towards better energy management.
