what will traffic be like on the roads this holiday weekend?

Dhe roads which promise to be busy. Smart Bison sees orange on certain roads in from this Friday, December 27, a weekend located in the middle of the Christmas school holidays. In the direction of departures, traffic promises to be particularly difficult in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, on the A6, the A46 and the A43. The routes towards the borders will also be congested. In its forecasts, Bison futé recommends avoiding these routes until around 7 p.m.

In Île-de-France, traffic will not be any busier than usual, with the majority of departures taking place this Thursday. However, in the direction of returns, Bison smart sees orange in the region on Saturday. Traffic will be particularly heavy on the A10 and A6 motorways between late morning and mid-evening on Saturday.

The Rhône valley will once again be classified orange on Saturday in the direction of departures. Bison futé predicts congestion mainly on the A43, A48 and N85 for most of the day, until 6 p.m. In the return direction, the A40 and the A43 will also be very busy, as will those coming from the Mediterranean arc (A7 in particular).

For Sunday, Bison futé has placed France in green, with the exception of Île-de-France. In the return direction, traffic jams are expected on the A10 and the A6, particularly at the toll gates, until early evening. It is recommended to cross or leave the region before 11 a.m.
