Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon hosts live acts every weekend. The next concert will feature the music group “Inner Pulse”, accompanied by two artists: Sabrina Belmo, singer, composer and performer, as well as Rodrigue Galio, singer and actor.
Meeting with these two artists.
Rodrigue and Sabrina, could you introduce yourself?
Rodrigue Galio : I have been a singer and actor for over twenty years. I started my career in Hauts-de-France, a region that I particularly like since I am from there. I have a very special bond with Disneyland Paris since I had the pleasure of performing in an iconic show of the destination: The Lion King and the Rhythms of the Earth, a fairly recent adventure in fact since it dates back to September 2023.
Sabrina Belmo: I have also been a singer for around twenty years too. My career as an actress dates back around 6 years ago. Of Martinican origin, I now live in the North of France and joined Disneyland Paris in August 2023.
Sabrina, you have a unique voice. You mainly perform on Gospel songs, what are the particularities of this register?
Sabrina : Gospel has been an integral part of my life since I was little! When I think of Gospel, I think of the authenticity, the strength and the values that emanate from it. For me, it’s a real school for liberating yourself and expressing emotions through your voice.
Today, I love performing in other musical styles, but Gospel will always bring me back to basics.
As for you Rodrigue, you have participated in different tours in the past. You particularly have a special link with famous Disney animated films. Can you tell us about it?
R : In 2015, I had the chance to join the musical Notre-Dame of Paris (Richard Cocciante and Luc PlamOndon) to take on the role of Quasimodo’s understudy on the French tours but also several countries, a real tour.
Back in Paris, in 2021, I wanted to take on a new exercise – learning the role of puppeteer allowing me to perform at the Mogador theater in the musical The Lion King until April 2023 playing Pumbaa. Since this endearing role of the warthog, his good humor and carefree attitude have never left me!
Beyond your respective careers, you have the particularity of both of you being produced at Disneyland Paris on Shows that are very popular with our visitors. Can you tell us more?
R : I joined the show troupe The Lion King and the Rhythms of the Earth here too, playing the famous warthog. It was a wonderful experience and a role I played with passion. Today, I still take great pleasure in singing “Hakuna Matata” as Pumbaa in Frontierland Theater.
S : I had the opportunity to join another iconic spectacle of the destination: Mickey and the Magician ! A Show in which visitors can follow Mickey as he learns magic. An apprenticeship guided by the Genie from Aladdin, Lumière from Beauty and the Beast, or even Rafiki from The Lion King, the latter being the character that I still play today.
When you both performed on stages at Disneyland Paris, what were your fondest memories?
S : You can’t imagine the number of beautiful memories we have been able to store here at Disneyland Paris in two show seasons.
The first and last performance of the show Mickey and the Magician of the season always have a special flavor. I realized how lucky I was to participate in such a show with all the teams and resources we had on stage and behind the scenes.
When you are on stage and see the magic and wonder in the eyes of young and old, that is priceless for me! It is a moment suspended in time imbued with beauty and innocence.
R : My arrival at Disneyland Paris for my first day of rehearsal was one of my fondest memories! Before working there I was of course a visitor to the Disney Parks and I had the pleasure of discovering the show “The Lion King and the Rhythms of the Earth” as a spectator. During my rehearsal day, I was aware of how lucky I was to be part of such a great team and I realized the work it represented for me. The combination of this vision of the show as a visitor and this first rehearsal made the first performance of this show a memorable memory.
On December 28, you have decided to get together to perform on stage at Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon in Disney Village. What brought you together?
R : Sabrina and I have already had the opportunity to share the stage in our region, notably at the Casino Barrière in Lille, in the musicals “Memphis Show” (2017-2018) and “Cubanista” (2018-2020).
Afterwards, we went on tour for another summer project. This is how we met Kevin Fourment, the founder of the group “Inner Pulse”, with whom we will perform on December 28.
What will you choose to perform on stage with your band?
S : On the stage of Billy Bob’s Western Saloon, we will mainly perform the great hits of recent decades as well as timeless classics. On the program, we will offer a wide Funk/Disco, Pop/rock repertoire as well as international and French variety. Something to satisfy everyone!
Is your group “Inner Pulse” made up of musicians?
R : Our group is made up of four professional musicians Kevin Fourment on drums, Tom Laffolay on bass, Nicolas Michel on keyboard and Cédric Goossens on guitar. They have also collaborated with numerous variety artists and singers from major French musicals, gospel and even TV shows.
Listening to your speeches, is there a particular aspect of the Disney universe that excites you?
R : I grew up listening to Disney music and watching DVDs such as Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, etc.
Around the age of 16, I discovered the Disney Parks which continue to bring to life all these characters who marked my childhood. Today, at my level, I ensure that the magic continues for all Disney fans.
S : Like many of us, fairytale stories and Disney Characters rocked and illuminated my childhood. When I go to Disney Parks, I sometimes go back to my childhood. “Mickey and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice” is one of the books that had the most impact on me because it immersed me in an imaginary world. Now I contribute to the magic when I go on stage… It’s completely crazy!
So we’re meeting on stage at Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon on December 28th! What do you want to say to the public who will be there to listen to you?
R : We are more than determined to take you into our festive world this Saturday, December 28 with our group “Inner Pulse”.
S : Emotions, laughter and music, it’s the perfect combo for a good evening, we can’t wait to see many of you at the Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon !
