It’s not just the Daudet school which was targeted on the night of Monday December 23 to Tuesday December 24. Still in the Argentine district of Beauvais, a couple in their seventies were victims of a burglary on rue d’Aquitaine.
“They left between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to see their son and when they returned home, the door was blocked by a piece of furniture and the circuit breaker had been cut, their daughter testifies. So Mom waited for Dad, who was parking the car, before coming home. »
According to initial findings, the burglars forced the kitchen window: they stole money, notably that collected during a raffle organized by a sports club, and jewelry… without touching the Christmas presents however. “They turned over their entire apartment”says the Beauvaisienne, her parents still being very shocked this Thursday.

A strong smell spread throughout the building
It remains to be seen whether these are the same people who vandalized the school located 750 meters away. Caution therefore remains in order. Especially since this is not the only episode that marked that night at the ZUP : shortly after 9 p.m. this Monday, residents of rue d’Aquitaine, once again, called the firefighters believing there was a gas leak.
But, on site, nothing was found except a black mark that could be compared to a tear gas bomb and the smell of which spread throughout the building. Hence this potential gas leak and the call to the firefighters.
