Three days after announcing his entry into government, Laurent Marcangeli officially took over from Guillaume Kasbarian as head of the Ministry of Public Action, Civil Service and Simplification.
The transfer of power took place on the morning of Thursday, December 26 at the Hôtel Rothelin-Charolais, headquarters of the ministry located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

The mayor of Ajaccio, Stéphane Sbraggia, his first deputy, Alexandre Farina, as well as the mayor of Peri, Xavier Lacombe, were present. Substitute for Laurent Marcangeli as deputy of the first constituency of Corse-du-Sud, the latter the will therefore now replace in the hemicycle of the National Assembly.
With this official assumption of office, Laurent Marcangelli writes a new page in his political career.
In 2014, he put the right back in power in Ajaccio, taking the town hall from the left of Simon Renucci.
Deputy for the first constituency of Corse-du-Sud between 2012 and 2017, he then retained his chair as mayor in the 2020 municipal elections.
Re-elected deputy in 2022, he was then forced to leave his seat as councilor, in order to respect the non-cumulation of mandates.
In the meantime, in October 2021, he joined the Horizons party, a label under which he supported Emmanuel Macron in the 2022 presidential election.
At 44, Laurent Marcangeli therefore becomes a full minister in a government made up of 34 members.
