The writers of Sonic the Movie 3 want to work on a Zelda: The Wind Waker movie

The writers of Sonic the Movie 3 show interest in a film based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

The co-writers of Sonic the Movie 3, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, have expressed interest in working on a film based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. IGN asked the two what other games the pair would be interested in adapting for the big screen.

Casey and Miller have mentioned that they are already on board for a film based on It Takes Two, but have also expressed interest in Golden Axe, A Boy and His Blob and even the 1993 platformer Cool Spot. Miller then spoke about his interest in working on a film for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Wakercalling the GameCube game “so cinematic.”

He stated in the IGN interview:

“I think another easy question we can answer is what film we'd like to work on that isn't already in the works. In this case, it would be a Zelda. I remember when we played Wind Waker, we always thought, “Man, it would probably be weird if they made a Zelda movie out of Wind Waker versus the more classic Hyrule.” But we both loved Wind Waker and it's so cinematic. Yes. So once they make this Zelda movie, I guess we could come up with a possible Wind Waker spin-off.”

Nintendo previously announced the live-action film based on The Legend of Zelda. However, details have not yet been shared, so fans can only speculate on what the plot will be.
