David has a very ambitious goal, that of Champions League:
“I've always wanted to win one. That it's now makes me very happy. I don't know why I never got this before. I'm not the one voting. All I can do is give my all on the pitch. When I saw the names of my competitors, I didn't think I would win it. I thought they had a better chance than me, but that was just my opinion. And it doesn't count…“.
Precisely this season, between the championship and the cup, the Canadian is giving his best, with 17 goals in 26 appearances. But by scoring against Real Madrid, David rightfully entered the ranks of the great champions of the European stage:
“My best season? Could be. In the Champions League everyone is watching you. I spoke to people who didn't know me before my goal against Real Madrid. That's when you realize that the Champions League really is a higher level”.
Also, David is at the top of the league's top scorers Ligue 1 con 11 gol and hopes to win the title of bomber of the French championship:
“Being the best scorer of Ligue 1 it's clearly a goal. When you're in the lead halfway through the season, you want to stay there. But the season is still long. Every striker who plays in a championship has this objective.”
Finally, a reflection on his career, with the milestone of 100 goals: “When I arrived here, I didn't think I would reach 100 goals. It's something incredible. We need to take a moment to realize and appreciate having reached this goal,” he concluded.
