From a writer in an identity crisis to a financial “brain” thanks to an experimental drug

Based on the novel Dark territories del 2001 on Alan Glynn, Limitless is a 2011 film directed by Neil Burger, with Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Abbie Cornish, Andrew Howard, Anna Friel, Johnny Whitworth. The film will be broadcast this evening at 9pm on Sky Cinema Suspense HD.

The protagonist is Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper), a young New York writer in the midst of a professional and personal crisis. His girlfriend Lindy (Abbie Cornish), tired of his failures, decides to leave him. His life suddenly changes when a friend makes him try NZT-48, a revolutionary pharmaceutical substance still in the testing phase, capable of incredibly increasing the potential of the human brain.

After taking the drug, Eddie is able to remember everything he has read, seen or heard. After finally managing to complete the book he was writing, his new deductive, learning, memorizing and socializing skills push him to try his luck in the world of the stock market. Soon he begins to do wonders on Wall Street, where his skill attracts the attention of Carl Van Loon (Robert De Niro), a powerful financial tycoon who, after testing him, offers him the chance to negotiate the largest merger of history.

However, the drug has side effects that worsen after each intake. Eddie finds that at certain times, he doesn't remember anything he did, saw or heard. The worst is that he is still unaware that some people are now ready to do anything to get their hands on his stock of NZT.
