Blake Lively, the “It Ends With Us” case ends up in court: here are the accusations against Justin Baldoni

The relationships between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, protagonists and co-directors of the film “It Ends With Us”, seem to be getting more and more sour. Already in recent months there had been talk of the alleged tensions between the two actors, who would have had a heated feud on set due to conflicting opinions on the final cut of the film. Rumors partially denied by Baldoni himself, who in an interview with “Elle UK” had defined everything as simple professional discussions between colleagues committed to creating the best possible product.

Since the film debuted in theaters last August, however, rumors about the alleged feud between the two protagonists have never died down. Now it would appear that the two are ready to face the matter in court. TMZ would have obtained the papers of the complaint that Blake Lively would have filed against her colleague. As revealed yesterday, December 21, 2024, by the portal, the climate on set was so tense as to create “a hostile work environment”. Furthermore, in the accusation, Blake spoke of “harassment” and the attempt by Baldoni and his public relations team to “destroy” his reputation. This “campaign of social manipulation” would have caused damage to Lively's career, as well as “serious emotional difficulties” for her family.

Justin Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, responded immediately by calling the accusations “false and outrageous”, useful to mitigate Lively's “negative reputation”. According to the lawyer, Blake threatened several times “not to show up on set” and to “not promote the film”, behaviors which would not have helped to encourage spectators to go to the cinema. However, over the course of these months, Blake has often been seen promoting the film, encouraging the public to see it. Despite the tensions, in fact, the film was one of the most popular of the year, attracting spectators of all age groups and grossing over 300 million dollars, according to Forbes estimates.

Furthermore, in the wake of the alleged lawsuit brought by Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni's agency, William Morris Endeavor, would have severed relations with the actor. The author of the novel on which the film is based, Colleen Hoover, dedicated an Instagram Story to Blake, praising her: «You have been honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the person you are.”

While Justin Baldoni has not yet spoken out, Blake released a statement to TMZ: «I hope my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliation tactics to harm people who speak out about misconduct and help protect others who may be targeted.”
