Natale 2024 it will be very different from the one 2023 was characterized by very mild climate and anticyclonic. This time Italy will be affected by cold air currents of Arctic origin from Eastern Europe which will keep a certain active for a few days winter instability on some regions. It will be a white Christmas for the Apennines central and southern you will see snowfall up to medium and low hill altitudes. It will be a Rainy Christmas for the central and southern Adriatic coasts and part of the far south, especially Calabria and Sicily. It will be a Dry Christmas for the central Tyrrhenian regions, those northern and Sardinia. The raid will be preceded by a disturbance which will affect Italy in the second part of the Sunday and accompanied by a cold front that will approach the Alps between Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 December. This front will be the only one chance for the Alps to see snowfalls since later the precipitation they will mainly affect the Center and the South. Let's see how the week will go:
WEATHER MONDAY: light snow on Valle d'Aosta, upper Piedmont, upper Lombardy and Alto Adige, up to the valley floor. Sunny in the rest of the north and in the central Tyrrhenian regions. Irregularly cloudy in the middle Adriatic, in the southern peninsula and in Sicily with an opportunity for showers and local thunderstorms. Snow in the Apennines up to hilly altitudes (600/700m). Temperature further declining, venti northern forts. Mari very moved or agitated.
WEATHER CHRISTMAS EVE, TUESDAY: still some light snowfall but running out in upper Piedmont, upper Lombardy, Alto Adige. Sunny in the rest of the North and in the central Tyrrhenian regions. Unstable in the mid-lower Adriatic and lower Tyrrhenian Sea with showers, including thunderstorms and snowfalls which may fall up to 400/500m in the central-southern Apennines. Temperature further decreasing from the east. Venti northern forts. Very rough or rough seas.
CHRISTMAS WEATHER, WEDNESDAY: unstable in the South and in the middle Adriatic, especially Abruzzo with rain and snow showers up to hilly altitudes in the Apennines (500/600m). Thickening also between Emilia Romagna and lower Triveneto with some light snowfall on the Emilian Apennines up to hilly altitudes. Sunny in the rest of the North, central Tyrrhenian Sea and Sardinia. Temperature stable or slightly further decreasing in the Center and South, increasing in the North. Strong northerly winds. Very rough or rough seas.
WEATHER BOXING STEPHAN THURSDAY: local instability in the South and on the middle Adriatic up to the Emilian and Romagna Apennines with isolated, snowy phenomena up to 800/900m. Sunnier elsewhere. Temperature slightly increasing in the Centre-North and Sardinia. Winds still tense with very rough seas.
NEXT DAYS: conditions of local instability are renewed in the Adriatic and southern regions due to a colder flow that will remain active from eastern Europe. Rain is still expected, including thunderstorms in the far south and islands with snow in the Apennines at altitudes of mountain. Temperatures slightly and generally increasing. Still moderate eastern ventilation. Rough seas.
