Projectile fired from Yemen, 14 injured in Israel – News

The toll from the fall of a 'projectile' launched last night from Yemen into Israel on Israel is 14 lightly injured, according to the Israeli national medical service.

Previously, the Israeli army said it failed to intercept a 'projectile' launched from Yemen that landed near Tel Aviv.

“Following the sirens sounded earlier in central Israel, a projectile launched from Yemen was identified and unsuccessful interception attempts were made,” the Israeli military said on its Telegram channel.

The attack comes two days after a series of Israeli bombings against ports and energy infrastructure controlled by the Houthis in Yemen, a militia with strong ties to Iran that has multiplied attacks against Israel and Western ships transiting the Red Sea.

The Houthis claim responsibility for the attack

Yemen's Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for a rocket attack in central Israel, after the Israeli army admitted it failed to intercept a projectile that hit Tel Aviv.

In a statement, the Houthis said they had “hit a military target of the Israeli enemy in the occupied area” of Tel Aviv using a ballistic missile.
