Filming is officially over! New photos of the cast from the set

Netflix gives us an early Christmas gift by giving the news that many of us have been waiting for: production of the final season of Stranger Things has come to an end. See you in 2025.

It was a long journey (almost 12 months on set) and with many obstacles, but in the end the result was brought home and, honestly, we can't wait to see it. Netflix announced that the filming of the fifth and final season Of Stranger Things are officially over. Of course, now we will have to work on post-production which will require great efforts (for a season defined as “as big as a Hollywood blockbuster”), but we know that the cast has completed the work. To pass the time (lThe release is expected in 2025 but a date has not yet been made official), Netflix has also released some new photos in which we see the protagonists – visibly cheerful and excited – on the set of the final episodes.

The long production of Stranger Things 5

The filming of Stranger Things they were supposed to start in the summer of 2023, a year after the release of the fourth season, but strikes by Hollywood actors and screenwriters severely slowed down work. As a result, the machine was only able to restart in January 2024, with the entire cast returning to the set and, more than Vecna, they had to manage an unstoppable enemy: the passing of time. The executive producer and director Shawn Levytalking to Varietyhad reassured fans by saying that the protagonists will still seem young in the final season. “We've already seen the cast of our show grow… and between the ages of 12 and 22, every human being changes profoundly. That said, our wig, makeup, and wardrobe department is pretty stellar, and we'll use all the tools we have disposition”, he warned.

Stranger Things: The plot of the final season

The short official synopsis of the fifth season of Stranger Things released by Netflix reads: “In the final season, friendships will be tested and lives will be turned upside down, because what they discover will change Hawkins, and perhaps the world, forever.” We know that the story will start again from a time jump but, naturally, the video streaming service has not made any details on the plot. Wanting to give credence to the statements made in recent months by several cast members, we can be sure that the final season will reserve many surprises and will not spare a few tears.

In the shots released by Netflix we see the cast smiling during filming and, in one photo in particular, we can see neighbors Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Natalia Dyer () e Joe Keery (Steve), a detail that makes us think that their love triangle will be more alive than ever. In another we notice Hopper (David Harbour) with a particularly long, scruffy beard while talking to the co-creator Ross Duffer. The atmosphere, at least in these images, seems rather relaxed. But we're sure it's just the calm before the storm.
