Worker died in Genoa, the number of people under investigation for Macvò's death rises to 7: who are they

The number of people under investigation for the death of Giovanni Battista Macvò, the dockworker who died on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday at the port of Genova Pra', rises to seven.

In addition to the Culmv colleague Patrizio Randazzo, who was driving the fifth wheel which collided with the other fifth wheel stopped in the port, injuring the driver of the vehicle and killing Macvò who was carrying out a check on the seals of some containers, the consul of the single company Antonio Benvenuti and five other members of the PSA, the company that coordinates the port workers.

Today Randazzo met with his lawyer, Paolo Scovazzi, to whom he reiterated what he had told him yesterday by telephone, namely that the maneuver that caused the accident was due to a fall of sleep. The dock worker is under investigation for manslaughter, the prosecutor's office has acquired images from the cameras in the port. In a video, published by the newspapers, the fifth wheel can be seen suddenly changing direction, impacting the other vehicle and overwhelming Macvò. A strange maneuver, which the investigators are investigating but for now they do not contest the aggravating circumstance for the use of cannabinoids because Randazzo tested positive but not under the influence. Furthermore, it does not appear that the dockworker was using his cell phone while he was driving the fifth wheel.

The investigations are coordinated by prosecutor Arianna Ciavattine and followed by the port authority and the Workplace Prevention and Safety group of ASL3. In addition to the video already broadcast, others were seized, along with the service status, suitability and periodic checks of the vehicle, which however appears to be new and in perfect working order. The reason for that maneuver which cost the life of the colleague and the injury of another who was on board the fifth wheel with which the vehicle collided remains to be understood.
