Have fun discovering and experimenting with how different materials “sound” and then building your own instrument. On Saturday 21 December, at 4.30 pm, the Christmas party at Palazzo Santa Margherita in Modena (Corso Canalgrande 103) begins with a sound exploration workshop for boys and girls aged 8 to 15 led by percussionist Luciano Bosi and the Rulli Frulli Band. ). The workshop, by reservation, lasts 2 hours, each participant will be able to search for their own way of expression and then participate in the Band's traveling concert which will start at 6pm and will take place in the cloister and in the Palace.
The festive afternoon, organized by the Delfini Library and the Ago Foundation and open to all, continues at 4.30 pm, in the conference room of the Library with “Falling in love with a classic at Christmas”, meeting with Guendalina Middei, alias Professor X (on Instagram @ilprofessorx) , in dialogue with Monica Tappa, dedicated to the rediscovery of the great classics of literature. Guendalina Middei, 32 years old, is a teacher and writer, in 2024 she published the popular essay “Falling in love with Anna Karenina on Saturday evening” for Feltrinelli and in 2025, for the same publishing house, “Surviving Monday morning with Lolita” will be released.
Also in the Delfini Library, in the Story Room, at 5pm, appointment with “Born to read” and readings of Christmas stories in music among trees, lights and gifts. The meeting, organized by the volunteers and with the musical accompaniment of Ivana Nikolin, is dedicated to boys and girls aged 2 to 6 and their parents (by reservation).

At 6pm, the marching band starts with the Banda Rulli Frulli and the participants in the sound exploration laboratory to celebrate music, culture and sharing together.
From 5.30pm to 6.30pm, party participants will be able to refresh themselves with mulled wine and hot chocolate, while throughout the afternoon you can browse through the books displayed in the Christmas stalls set up in the church hall and in the children's section of the Delfini, looking for special readings for yourself or for give. In the Nespolo courtyard, however, you can exchange small green gifts by bringing your own cutting enriched with a wishful note and receiving another in return.
On the occasion of the festival, the Ago Foundation exhibitions set up in Palazzo Santa Margherita can be visited with free admission and there are also guided tours, always free: at 3pm at the Figurine Museum and at Milo Manara's exhibition “Così fan tutte” which exhibits the sketches of the scenes and costumes that the cartoonist created for the staging of the opera at the Pavarotti-Freni municipal theatre; at 4pm, the guided tour is at the Davide Vignali Prize exhibition which displays the photographic video projects created by 5th grade students from high schools in Emilia Romagna; at 5pm, guided tour of the “Umwelt” exhibition on art, technoscience, non-human expressions of intelligence and natural and artificial collective environments.
