The new headquarters of Forza Italia, in Porto Torres, will be dedicated to Annibale Francesconi, a Turritan politician known for his extraordinary political career. The appointment is for Saturday, December 21st at 10.30 am, for the inauguration of the city section, in via Emilio Lussu, in the presence of members and supporters. In addition to the city secretary of FI, Pier Luigi Molino, the meeting will also be attended by Pietro Pittalis, regional secretary of Forza Italia, vice-president of the Justice commission of the Chamber, Giovanni Terrosu provincial coordinator of FI, Marco Falcone MEP and deputy head of the Italian delegation of the group PPP- People’s Party in the European Parliament.
The former socialist mayor of Porto Torres, Annibale Francesconi, who passed away in 2003, joined Forza Italia in 1997 after a long militancy in the PSI, holding the position of municipal councilor and later regional councilor in 1969. From August 1974 to May 1976 he assumed the mandate of regional councilor in the Del Rio council and in the years from 1977 to 1978 in the Soddu council. In the same year he resigned after being elected mayor of Porto Torres, a brief experience following his position on the district control committee of Sassari. The city secretary Molino will also remember the figure of Francesconi, underlining his political depth.
