Disney+ announces the renewal of Italia’s Got Talent over a year after the release of the first season distributed for the first time on the platform in September 2023 (then also broadcast on free-to-air TV8 in February 2024). The press release makes no reference to the jury which in the first edition of Italia’s Got Talent on Disney+ was composed of Mara Maionchi, Frank Matano, Khaby Lame ed Elettra Lamobrghini just as there is no reference to the hosts Aurora Leone and Fru. Will there be a radical change of the jury? This is possible to restore interest in a format that is perhaps not very suitable for streaming.
What is certain is that castings to participate in the new season are open from December 19th, all information is available on the website www.italiasgottalent.it.
“I am happy to announce that Italia’s Got Talent will still be an original Disney+ production, a renewal that confirms the desire to build a general entertainment offering ever wider and more complete”, said Daniel Frigo, Country Manager, The Walt Disney Company Italy. “The last edition represented the debut for this show on a streaming platform and it was a successful bet, confirming once again the excellent collaboration with Fremantle”.
“We are thrilled to be working alongside Disney once again for a new season of Italia’s Got Talent. A result that rewards the success of one of the most iconic and loved formats in the world and the winning choice of Disney who decided, first in Europe, to offer it in streaming. The casting calls to participate in the new season are open and we are already working to discover the best talents to create together a unique and extraordinary show for Disney+ subscribers in Italy”, declared Marco Tombolini, CEO Fremantle Italia.
The last edition on Disney+ saw a triumph Francesca Cesarini who, with an exciting sporting pole performance, won over and moved the audience, placing himself in first place out of the 10 finalists who arrived at the last episode of the talent show.
Adapted in 75 markets, it is the most successful format in the world, so much so that it earned the title of “World Guinness Record” as “Most Popular Talent/Reality Show”. Created in 2006, it reached a total of over 1 billion viewers globally and in 2023-2024 it aired in 31 countries with excellent viewing results. The 2023 Italian edition was the first Got Talent in Europe to be available on a streaming platform.
