USA, Wisconsin school shooting: 15-year-old girl suspected

A 15-year-old student is the main suspect in the shooting at a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin. The police reported this, underlining that the young woman, Natalie Rupnow, shot herself and died while being transported to hospital.

The shooting occurred inside a study room frequented by students in mixed classes. The alarm was raised by a second-grader at Abundant Life Christian School who called 911. As specified by Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes, quoted by CNN, Rupnow was known by the name Samantha. From the first reconstructions, it seems that the girl had an unhealthy admiration for one of the two perpetrators of the Columbine massacre in 1999. In fact, some US media published a photo of the 15-year-old wearing a t-shirt with the logo of a German band , identical to that of Eric Harris, the 18-year-old killer who together with Dylan Klebold massacred 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School, in Colorado. Meanwhile, Madison police are examining online posts and a possible ‘manifesto’ published by someone who claimed to be a friend of the killer. “We haven’t been able to locate this person yet, but it’s something we’re working on. We’ll also check his personal belongings, if he had a computer or cell phone,” Shon Barnes said.
