Ferrari, the choice to take Hamilton is indisputable

Indisputable: which cannot be questioned, which cannot be doubted (Treccani). And Ferrari’s choice to hire Lewis Hamilton is indisputablein spite of those who necessarily want to blow the trumpets and throw it into chaos, trying to play the part of the voice outside the chorus, of non-conformism at all costs.

And whoever shouts about the “boiled”, the finished pilot, whoever doubts and ignores – voluntarily ignores – 105 victories, seven world championships, Greatness, is not original or, indeed, brilliantly non-conformist, but only banal, of that banality of this historical period darkness, handed over to the stupidity of “social media”, where the scream counts more than reasoning.

Only in a world that is the son of a minor and dystopian god can one write or think that Ferrari made a mistake in hiring Hamilton. With all the respect due to an excellent driver like Carlos Sainz, doubting Lewis, who after twelve seasons with Mercedes embraces the Prancing Horse, means understanding little about Formula 1. Not only that, it means watching F1 with hams before your eyes , speaking out of sympathy and not what the track says.

I appeal to the intelligence of the reader. Can you ever think that a driver is “finished” who, with a W15 with which he has never been comfortable, wins like that at Silverstone, a legendary circuit with very complicated corners? Can one think that Lewis is “boiled” after admiring him in the comebacks in Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi? Objectively no.

We should then use our brains to analyze the reasons for what was certainly not an unforgettable season for Lewis Hamilton. Remembering that since 2022 Mercedes has supported him with an incredible talent such as George Russelland from the internal comparison Hamilton came out ahead in terms of points won over the three years. Considering that we are talking about the driver on whom Mercedes has focused for the future, and considering that Hamilton spent 2022 experimenting on the car, the result should already silence too many unruly rumors.

We add, always with the utmost respect, that those who know Formula 1 a little cannot ignore the fact that when the great champions are “resigning”, about to leave a team, it is never very easy for them. And Lewis’ 2024 was superior – to give an example – to Vettel’s 2014.

Eh but Hamilton is old, some continue. And perhaps they are the most ardent supporters of Sainz, who are even more ardent supporters of Alonso. Who has four seasons more than Hamilton, but woe betide you if you say this. The truth is that those who criticize do so out of dislike, because no individual with intellect would allow himself to judge a priori – therefore without any confirmation, in the dark, just for the fun of opening his mouth – the choice to hire the most successful driver ever.

Forgive me, it’s funny just writing that. Imagine reading it. Hamilton cannot be discussedthe hope is that he and the Maranello team can do great things together.
