Two members of the Popular University of Argenton-sur-Creuse won a literary prize

The Popular University of Argenton (Upop), created in 2014, has been a member of the Union of Free Time Universities of the Centre-Val de region (UUTLRC) for several years. The latter brings together more than 5,000 students, divided into twelve universities, both large structures and more modest centers, such as that of Argenton. Every two years, the UUTLRC organizes a literary competition, called À vos plumes, open to all members in the region. This literary contest is open in the genres of poetry and short stories.

This year, the jury awarded three prizes in the “New” category and Argenton stood out since two members of Upop were winners: Colette Fernique won first prize for her short story. Carl Gauss and mewhile Bernadette Billard-Grassias was awarded second prize (tied) for her text Unspeakable confidence.

A nice gift for the 10th anniversary of the association

« I am very happy and surprised, it makes me very happy to be recognized by people who don't know me »confides Colette Fernique who, for many years, has been interested in the short story genre. She also participates in the running of the writing workshop of the Cercle des Beaux-Arts d'Argenton, led by Jacqueline Charrier.

The prizes were presented on Friday December 6, 2024, in Orléans, by the president of the Regional Union, Anne Sevin and by the heads of the juries. A great way for Upop to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
