Former Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius is reportedly in a relationship, after eight years in prison for the murder of his partner

The Paralympic athlete was released from prison last January, after several years behind bars for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp. Now freed, he would have found love again.

After eight years behind bars for the murder of his partner, model Reeva Steenkamp, ​​in 2013, Oscar Pistorius, his real name, began a new life. The former Paralympic champion would have found love again about three months ago, as reported by the media Network24 in the arms of a certain Rita Greyling.

A South African business management consultant, this 33-year-old blonde is said to be a long-time friend of the Pistorius family. Few further details were given regarding their relationship. However, several pieces of information have been relayed in the media about the life of the thirty-year-old. We know that a tragedy struck her close circle, in 2022. During the young woman's brother's bachelor party, at Henbase Lodge (near Pretoria, capital of South Africa), the best friend of the latter, Willem Kruger, 29 years old, had disappeared, before being found dead nine days later, drowned in a nearby river. After favoring the hypothesis of an accidental death, the investigators finally leaned towards a murder, which remains unsolved to this day. A tragedy which deeply scarred the family of Rita Greyling, who believes that her relationship with Oscar Pistorius is a “new beginning for each of them”, the media still relays.

“There remains a danger for women”

This new relationship nevertheless arouses concern for the Steenkamps. “I don’t understand how she doesn’t see a red flag about him,” he told the Sun Reeva Steenkamp's mother. “He has not resolved his self-control problem and is not taking any treatment in this regard. I'm worried because he has anger inside him. He still poses a danger to women. Reeva only knew him for three months before he died and he never confessed anything.”

Oscar Pistorius, a 38-year-old South African athlete, double amputee below the knees at the age of 11, became a disabled sports legend in 2012, running the 400 meters in 45 seconds and 44 hundredths during the Games. Sentenced on appeal in 2017 to a prison sentence of 13 years and 5 months, counting the months already spent in prison, Oscar Pistorius finally benefited from early parole on January 5, 2024. He would now reside in seclusion with his uncle, in the luxurious villa near Pretoria.
