Because fuel prices are experiencing very different fates at the moment. That of diesel falls overall in France, according to data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, from December 6 to 13, when the price of gasoline has increased in recent days.
Thus, the price of diesel stands at €1.6416/L these days. A price decreasing by 0.4 euro cents per liter. Enough to make it a second consecutive week of decline, after a peak at 1.6543 €/L two weeks ago. A price reached following five consecutive weeks of price increases.
As for SP95-E10 gasoline, we are at €1.716/L on average in the country, up 0.4 euro cents over one week. Which follows an almost similar drop two weeks ago. Overall, the price of this energy is increasing slowly but surely. SP95-E10 was listed at €1.7032/L on average between October 21 and 27.
As for other fuels, SP95 and SP98, the increase is even greater. This first increases to 1.7624 €/L, up 0.66 euro cents. The second is up almost 0.5 cents, to 1.8202 €/L compared to 1.8166 €/L last week.
The price of oil falling
This development will therefore displease some users. That of gasoline, on the rise, is all the more surprising since the price of oil is falling! The barrel of dated Brent appears, like diesel, at -$0.4, at $73.6.
Enough to give a second consecutive week of reduction in prices. It remains to be seen whether this will be reflected generally at the pump in the weeks to come.
