The Limoges public prosecutor’s office indicated that the body of a 15-year-old girl, stabbed to death, had been discovered during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Isle (Haute-Vienne). This Monday, a 15-year-old boy was indicted for violent robbery resulting in death.
A phone theft turns into a tragedy. During the night from Saturday to Sunday, the body of a 15-year-old girl was found in Isle in Haute-Vienne, the Limoges prosecutor’s office said. The victim was stabbed. This Monday, December 16, a 15-year-old teenager was indicted for violent theft leading to death, said the Limoges public prosecutor’s office.
Inès, 15, was absent from her home in Isle on Friday around 6:30 p.m., explaining that she had “documents to collect for an internship” that she was doing. Her family reported her disappearance to the police two hours later, her sister having revealed exchanges for several days between Inès and a user of the Snapchat application. The latter was identified the next day, then questioned by investigators.
Unknown to the police and justice services, the teenager initially denied the facts, before admitting “having intended to steal his cell phone”. To do this, he “pretended to want to give her a gift from a friend”, in this case a jewelry box, to arrange an appointment with her, explained Émilie Abrantes, public prosecutor in Limoges.
The two teenagers knew each other and used to take the bus together. Friday evening, they walked towards a wood, where the victim struggled when the suspect tried to steal his phone. Fearing that she would raise the alarm, he then hit her with a kitchen knife that he had taken with him to intimidate her.
The body of the victim, which “was not undressed” and which presented “forty” wounds, was found on the boy’s instructions, as were the jewelry box and the young girl’s telephone. An autopsy will take place this Tuesday, December 17, according to the same source.
