It is an isolated house in the countryside and is located in -de-Bretagne30 kilometers from . The farmhouse where Magali Blandin, her husband Jérôme Gaillard and their four children had lived, was the victim of a fire on Friday November 29, 2024, at 11:30 p.m., information from West Franceof which we were able to have confirmation. The gendarmes, responsible for the investigation, do not rule out any hypothesis.

At the heart of the matter

The fire started in the roof of this farmhouse. Part of the first floor, where the children’s toys are still located, seems to have been spared. This house was purchased by the couple from the parents of Jérôme Gaillard who owned it. Magali Blandin left the family home in 2020 to move into an apartment in Montfort-sur-Meuit is moreover his departure from this house which is at the heart of this femicide. It was in his new home that Jérôme Gaillard killed him with two blows with a baseball bat, before strangling him and burying his body in a wood.

Already vandalism

After the indictment of Jérôme Gaillard for the murder of his wife in March 2021 and his placement in pre-trial detention, the house was the victim of vandalism, and agricultural equipment stored in the sheds he rented had been stolen. Two complaints had been filed. When firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire, they found that all the doors and windows on the ground floor had disappeared.

A strong symbolism

For Jérôme Gaillard’s lawyer, master Jean-Guillaume le Mintier, whom we contacted, this farmhouse has very strong symbolism. Both the house and the hangars had been sealed during the investigation.. In his farewell letter, before his suicide in prisonJérôme Gaillard left it to his four children.
