Ruben Amorim Makes Drastic Decision Regarding Rashford

The end of the adventure for the English striker at Old Trafford: he is on the transfer market, and the Amorim revolution will begin with him.

In an epic encounter at the Etihad on Sunday, Manchester United claimed a thrilling derby victory over Manchester City, coming back from 0-1 down to win 2-1 just before the final whistle. Notably, the absence of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford from the squad has raised questions. Ruben Amorim confirmed their exclusion was not due to disciplinary actions by the club, but was a result of his “assessment” of their training performances throughout the week. However, reports from the Guardian indicate that as of this Monday, Rashford has been marked as transferable, and the Red Devils are aiming to sell him in the January transfer window.

The move has the full support of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is keen to cut costs at the club. The wage bill would be significantly reduced without Rashford’s weekly salary of £365,000 – or around €440,000 – which works out to a staggering €1.7m a month, or over €20m a year . According to the aforementioned publication, Ruben Amorim is looking to initiate the “revolution” within the club by sidelining Marcus Rashford, who he deems necessary to return Manchester United to their former glory in English and European football.

“Amorim has decided that Rashford must leave to initiate a cultural change throughout the club, from the football team to staff outside the team,” the article said.
