On Saturday, December 14, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new fire and rescue center (CIS) took place in Catus. This event was held in the presence of Claire Raulin, prefect of Lot, Jean-Marc Vayssouze-Faure, senator of Lot, Serge Rigal, president of the Department, Pascal Lewicki, president of the Board of Directors of the Departmental Service of 'Fire and Rescue, by Olivier Liard, mayor of Catus, by colonel hors class Jean-François Galtié, departmental director of Fire and Rescue Services Rescue from Lot and Captain Victor Vaz, head of the CIS accompanied by local firefighters. In fact, the current Catus CIS, installed on the “La Vernière” site, no longer allows firefighters to carry out their missions in satisfactory conditions. A 600 m2 municipal building, located nearby, meets the rehousing needs expressed by the SDIS. The work has already started and the official inauguration will take place on July 14. The first stone was made in order to accommodate a time capsule. The content of the latter will be the subject of a project led by the town hall in conjunction with the youth municipal council and local associations. It will be permanently sealed during the inauguration. When the stone was laid, a first element of this capsule, protected in a waterproof tube, took the form of a letter signed by the project's financiers. Authorities and guests then converged on the village hall for speeches followed by a reception offered by the municipality.
