Israel aims to double the population of annexed Golan settlements

New Israeli strikes were reported this Monday morning, December 16 in Syria, according to local media. Twelve military sites were reportedly targeted in the coastal region of Tartus. Israel claims to have destroyed 80% of the Syrian army while taking control of strategic sites in the Golan Heights.

The project, with a budget of 10.5 million euros, was approved by the Israeli government during its weekly meeting. The Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified this decision by stating that “ the strengthening of this region has become necessary, because a new front has opened on the border between the Syria and Israel. »

Israel remains the only country to have annexed the Golan Heights, a move that has only been recognized internationally by the United States.
