No more drinking water in this commune of Côte-d’Or, bottles made available

Residents of Foncegrive (Côte-d’Or) have been banned from drinking running water since Friday December 13. In question, the bacteria Escherichia coli (E.Coli) detected in the municipal supply system during the analysis of samples taken by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) three days earlier, indicates Blue Burgundy.

Boil the water

New tests are to be carried out on Monday December 16 to determine whether tap water can be drunk again. In the meantime, the population can use it to wash and do housework, specifies France 3 Burgundy Franche-Comté. It is also possible to consume running water if it has been brought to a boil.

The municipal team organized a bottled water distribution operation which began on Friday December 13 and continued throughout the weekend. Two bottles per person and per home are provided and must be collected from the town hall. Mayor Didier Mignotte explained that some residents had been sick and suffered from diarrhea.
