Five murders were committed on Saturday, December 14, around Dunkirk. The 22-year-old suspect, who went to the gendarmerie yesterday, was not known to the police. Several firearms were found in his vehicle.

The alleged shooter's murderous madness is said to have started in a farmhouse in Wormhout (North), on the afternoon of Saturday December 14. It was the home of his first victim, a 29-year-old man, father of two, who ran a small road transport company. Targeted by several shots from an automatic weapon, he died at the scene.

After a first homicide at 3 p.m., the suspect traveled 25km to Loon-Plage (North). At 4 p.m., he shot dead two security guards at a port company, before attacking two men who lived in a nearby migrant camp. “They were Kurds, two Kurds from Iran. Two men I had known for a long time, very kind to everyone,” said an acquaintance saddened.

The alleged killer, aged 22, is unknown to the police. Several firearms were found in his vehicle. The man spontaneously went to the police station on Saturday evening. His custody could last until Wednesday.
