Slalom: Clément Noël absent, the Blues at home, vengeful skiers
This time, Val d’Isère will indeed have its slalom. Canceled last year due to too hot conditions, the Face de Bellevarde slalom returns in 2024 and the weather is calmer than 24 hours ago. The giant won by Marco Odermatt was contested in the storm, which trapped more than one, including the French. Above the tight stakes, the sky should be less angry.
The big favorite in this race is French and even Avalin. Clément Noël won in Levi and Gurgl in November and is now world number 1 at home. But his fall during the giant will make him give up. His pain is too great, he will not be at the start and leaves the field open. Steven Amiez is hungry for a podium in Savoie. The Courchevel skier is getting closer and closer and why not this Sunday, in front of friends and family. There will therefore be five French people at the start of the slalom.
Other skiers could claim victory this Sunday. Watch out for the Norwegians. Henrik Kristoffersen and Atle Lie McGrath missed the podium in giant form. Lucas Pinheiro Braathen will be revengeful after his 0 yesterday. Let’s also watch the Swiss, Loic Meillard and Daniel Yule will have their card to play in this Sunday event in Val d’Isère. Start of the first round at 10 a.m., the second is scheduled for 1 p.m.
