A man, believed to be a manager in a marketing platform, was arrested on the night of Friday December 13 to Saturday December 14 in an apartment on 8e district of Paris. He is accused of making death threats with a weapon and violence against his wife. His custody is still ongoing, the prosecution told CNEWS.
On the night of Friday December 13 to Saturday December 14, a senior executive, believed to be a manager within a marketing platform, was arrested by the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) in a plush apartment on 8e district of Paris following domestic violence.
The arrest of the accused occurs as part of an investigation opened by the Paris prosecutor's office into charges of “death threats, acquisition and possession of a category B weapon”, the public prosecutor told CNEWS , confirming information from Parisian.
In fact, it was the accused's wife, threatened with a handgun by her husband, who raised the alarm. According to the story told by our colleagues, the events occurred when the victim returned to the family home after an evening spent with loved ones.
A suspect who would suffer from “psychological fragility”
The man, described as jealous and very violent, allegedly ordered her to come and join him in the marital bed. Threatened with a weapon, the victim managed to escape from the apartment under the pretext of going to get a glass of water in the kitchen. She was found by the police barefoot in the street and in her nightgown. Meanwhile, the couple's child was present in the apartment at the time of the incident.
On the victim's phone, investigators allegedly found a photo of the handgun. The latter was placed on a bedside table with a charger next to it, indicate our colleagues.
This is not the first time that the man, who suffers from psychological fragility, has attacked the victim. Indeed, this senior executive would have already tried to strangle his wife in the past. Moreover, he would also have been aggressive towards his wife's children, born from a first union.
Finally, the man was placed in police custody and this is ongoing, according to the public prosecutor's office. Paris to CNEWS, specifying that the investigation was entrusted to the Reception and Proximity Investigation Service (SAIP) of 8e arrondissement.
