The car was parked, engine running, in this small housing estate in Montévrain (Seine-et-Marne). It was inside this vehicle that the body of the victim, a man from the town, was found this Friday evening, around 7:30 p.m.
He had a large wound on his neck, left side, while an imposing kitchen knife stained with blood was lying on the ground, on the passenger side. A receipt for the purchase of the famous knife was also found in the passenger compartment, specifies the Meaux public prosecutor's office.
According to a police source, it was his brother who made the terrible discovery. Worried about not having heard from him since the evening before, the latter, a police officer, allegedly used the geolocation system on his brother's phone to find him. Which would have led him straight to Allée des Bosquets. The emergency services could only note the death of the forty-year-old.
A forensic doctor was dispatched to the scene. According to his initial analyses, the 42-year-old man had already been dead for several hours. The body was transported to the forensic institute where it should be autopsied at the beginning of next week, indicates the Meaux prosecutor's office.
The circumstances of the discovery, as well as the nature of the injury, suggest that the victim could have inflicted it on himself. An investigation has been opened. “Without closing a door, the possibility of suicide seems seriously conceivable,” comments the prosecutor of the Meaux public prosecutor's office, Jean-Baptiste Bladier.
