The French are more and more generous

The bar of 9 billion euros in donations was crossed in 2022. The average amount of a donation doubled between 2006 and 2022, going from 320 to 656 euros. Donations are particularly numerous during exceptional events such as the fire at Notre-Dame de , the war in Ukraine or even hurricanes in the West Indies.

Towards revamped maternity and parental leave?

In a report published Thursday, the Court of Auditors recommends in particular extending maternity leave by one month and providing financial support for parental leave. The objective is thus, beyond developing a better relationship with your child, to “reduce the demand for care” for children under 3 years old, while there is a shortage of nursery places and a good number of assistants kindergarteners will retire in the coming years. The extension of maternity leave by one month and better paid parental leave would make it possible to remove 70,000 places for a net saving of 360 million euros per year.

Matthieu Blazy, new artistic director of Chanel

Franco-Belgian designer Matthieu Blazy, 40, was chosen on Thursday to take the reins of future Chanel collections. Until now, he was the artistic director of Bottega Venetta. The Italian brand praised “its visionary creativity”.

Miss Netherlands competition canceled
