Escatalens. What a beautiful Book Fair!

There were around thirty writers, publishers, authors, illustrators and other exhibitors who filled the Escatalens village hall, at the invitation of the Acpo ( cultural heritage association) and its president Francine Debiais, in order to participate in this sixth A Sunday around the book fair.

The godmother of this show was Chantal Antunes and the guest of honor was the great Julie Gayet, author, director, actress. But the latter, taken by the opening ceremony of Notre-Dame de the evening before, apologized for not being able to participate. However, nothing is lost for her fans since she assured Francine Debiais of her upcoming arrival for a conference on Olympe de Gouges and the signing of her latest book.

During the opening, in the presence of Isabelle Laveron, regional advisor; of Jacques Moignard, mayor of Montech; by Françoise Génetti, departmental manager of the Telethon, the president warmly thanked her team of volunteers who ardently participated in setting up this show. She also thanked the mayor, Michel Cornille, for his support, he who is passionate about culture, art and reading. She thanked Crédit Agricole which recently provided aid to the association.

Jacques Moignard congratulated the president and her team for all the activities offered in the region. “An event of this nature brings balm to the heart and at this moment, we need it.”

Michel Cornille noted the effective work of the Acpo for this 6th edition of the show and said that he was very proud of what the association was doing, often helped by the elders of the Arc-en-ciel.

“Culture in general, books in particular, bring peace, knowledge, pleasure.” He also mentioned the holding of the exhibition on old toys and other community activities such as the theater, the Christmas concert, where everyone must find their place, whatever their thoughts, in complete freedom, in our Republic .
