Floyd Mayweather, boxing legend at 50 victories in as many fights, was invited to leave a neighborhood by a group of people while he was shopping in London. The latter would have reproached him for his support for Israel.
Floyd Mayweather taken to task in the streets of London. A video broadcast on social networks on Tuesday shows a moment of tension at the exit of a luxury store in the chic Hatton Gardens district between several people and the former boxer with 50 victories in as many fights. Some witnesses ensure that Mayweather would have received a group of men who had previously invited him to leave. Under the escort of his order service, he then mounted in a 4×4 which awaited him at the exit.
“I was not struck or touched”
In a message published on Instagram, the one who is nicknamed “Money” claims to have received no blow during the incident. “Let me set the record straight … There is no truth in the rumors circulating,” he wrote on Instagram. “I was not struck or touched in any way. What you see is just my security that does his job to keep the situation under control. I was in the United Kingdom for a quick stop 48 hours to shop, and unfortunately people leave jealousy and negativity feed false stories.
A witness explains to the Sun that the former boxer would have been taken to task because of his support for Israel. “There were perhaps eight to ten people involved in his pursuit, and about 20 or 25 people who were looking at,” said this person who presents himself as having attended the scene. “Mayweather's security team was in great inferiority. Someone said Mayweather shopping when he was asked why he supported Israel. He (Mayweather) said he was proud to support the Jews. Then Someone gave him a punch because of that.
If Mayweather does not mention the reasons for this attack, he has never hidden his support for Israel. He was one of the first stars to go to the Hebrew state after the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023 which had caused 1,200 Israeli civilians killed. In November, he went to a barbecue at a military base to support the Israeli defense forces. A few weeks earlier, he had met Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister.
