Resale of players purchased over the past ten years: Club Brugge, Ghent, Genk and the Union have earned more than 100 million euros!

In this little game, the French club is the world champion: Losc has the most positive record with €234 million spent over the last decade on players it no longer owns, compared to €617 million. in revenue, for a balance sheet of + €384 million! The Northerners are ahead of the Dutch Ajax (+ €289 million) and the Germans RB Leipzig (+ €288 million). Three other clubs recorded a positive balance of more than €200 million: Eintracht Frankfurt, Atalanta and Benfica.

In the other direction, it is also a French club which is leading the way: PSG has the most negative trading record over the last decade. The Parisian team shows a deficit of €646 million, almost half of which is linked to “bad” operations concerning Kylian Mbappé (- €180 million) and Neymar (- €122 million). Two English teams also have a deficit of more than €500 million: Manchester United (- €584 million, maximum loss of €110 million for Paul Pogba) and Chelsea (- €580 million, maximum loss of €70 million for… Romelu Lukaku) .

On the Belgian side, four Pro League clubs appear in the top 50 of CIES good students; therefore, among the clubs which have achieved the most good financial deals in the transfer window. They have all pocketed more than €100 million since 2015: Club Brugge has filled its coffers with €123 million, ahead of Ghent (+ €121 million), Genk (+ €117 million), and… Union SG (+ €101 million for only 8 million spent, and 109 million in sales). Remarkable performance for the Saint-Gillois, who have only returned to the Jupiler Pro League since 2021!
