Victoria, Madeleine, Sofia… the princesses of Sweden sparkling for the Nobel Prizes

Every December 10, Sweden remembers its distinguished national, the chemist Alfred Nobel, who died on this date. The inventor of dynamite wanted that in his memory, people who had brought “the greatest benefit to humanity” would be rewarded with a prize in his name, accompanied by 11 million Swedish crowns (approximately €953,500) .

A reward to which is added the privilege of spending an evening with the Swedish royal family who are responsible for presenting the prizes every year, before participating in a large banquet organized at the Stockholm Concert Hall alongside winners. An evening followed by another, which this time will take place at the palace.

A queen, three princesses, and diamonds galore

Also present, Prince Carl Philip and his wife, Sofia, pregnant with their fourth child whose birth is scheduled for February. For the occasion, the princess had also brought out the dress used for the “Vogue Scandinavia” shoot for her 40th birthday. A blue outfit, hugging her mother-to-be belly, signed by the Swedish brand Soeren Le Schmidt and accessorized with her wedding tiara, this time made up of blue topazes similar to those hanging from her ears.

Near her, Princess Victoria appeared majestic in a Christer Lindarw tulle dress accessorized with pink topaz earrings which highlighted the “Baden Fringe Tiara”, a fringed diamond jewel which gleamed on her imposing bun . Her mother, Princess Silvia, also chose tradition since she wore the Leuchtenberg sapphire tiara, which she really appreciates, and which went perfectly with her long midnight blue evening dress by Maknam.

Finally, Princess Madeleine had to take care of her official return, her presence at the Nobel Prizes having been random in recent years. Chris O’Neill’s wife wore a green Fadi El Khoury dress, embroidered with sequins and crystals, accessorized with a long train. An outfit completed with the imposing Connaught diamond tiara, usually worn by her older sister, Victoria.
