Cyberpunk 2077 players are celebrating the game’s four years on December 10, 2024. After a difficult launch, it is now easily among the best games of the genre. Despite the announcement that its development was finished, the developers have just released a small update, which adds some features, increases the customization of the character, but also of the vehicles, while other improvements are available.
Unfortunately, this is not a patch to improve the experience on PS5 Pro. So as not to miss anything of this Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2, find the patch notes below. This update is available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series versions.
Patch 2.2
New features
Initially reserved for Rayfield vehicles, the brand’s CrystalCoat technology has now been adopted by other manufacturers. You can now apply it to the bodywork of Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort brand vehicles. Pro Tip: Use the CrystalCoat to fool the police and lower your NCPD Wanted Level!
Kiroshi presents TWINTONE! As CrystalCoat technology continues to grow in popularity, TWINTONE takes your bodywork to the next level. Simply scan a car with your Kiroshi optics, switch to the TWINTONE tab, and save its color palette for just a few eddies. You can then find it in the TWINTONE database, accessible from the CrystalCoat menu. You will also find generic color palettes for all CrystalCoat compatible vehicles as well as unique palettes, reserved for the models on which they were scanned. Please note that duplication of color schemes is not permitted for vehicles associated with quests, owned by the NCPD, or incompatible with CrystalCoat technology.
All CrystalCoat and TWINTONE compatible vehicles are marked with a spray paint icon on Autofixer.
The ten hottest vehicles on the streets of Night City are now available for purchase on Autofixer:
- Mizutani Shion MZ1
- Mizutani Shion Targa MZT
- Thorton Galena GA32t
- Thorton Colby CST40
- Archer Quartz EC-L r275
- Quadra Type-66 640 TS
- Quadra Type-66 680 TS
- Mizutani Hozuki MH2
- Villefort Deleon V410-S Coupe (Phantom Liberty only)

At the end of Act 1, Johnny will now be able to appear in the passenger seat while V is behind the wheel to make comments and react to what he sees.
Mode photo
We’ve completely overhauled Photo Mode and added many features requested by the community:
- The drone camera is now a free camera, and no longer an orbital camera centered on V.
- Increased camera range.
- All Collisions (ON/OFF) – Determines whether the camera respects collisions with in-game objects.
- Lock Camera (ON/OFF) – Locks the camera to prevent misclicks that could ruin the photo.
- Precision Camera (ON/OFF) – Slows down the camera for easier aiming.
- Aspect Ratio (PC only. Custom resolution captures are not available on consoles. Consoles only support standard 16:9 aspect ratio images.)
- Characters Tab: Spawns up to 3 NPCs in the frame, with a roster of over 20 different characters. You can adjust their expression, pose and position.
- Lighting tab: allows you to add light sources and adjust them.
- Fixed depth of field ghosting.

Kiroshi’s SmartFrames™ technology lets you display photos taken in Photo Mode by interacting with frames installed in V’s apartments. Browse your photo collection from the new Gallery tab, located in the menu near the Journal options, Shards and Tarot. The gallery will look for screenshots in .png format in the corresponding directory on your PC or in the gallery on your console. For more information about SmartFrames™ and Gallery, see this support article.
Added character customization options:
- 32 eye colors
- 18 Lipstick Styles
- 17 nail colors

We’ve improved the Character Creator randomizer to add a new Classic – Punk slider. Whether you’re looking for a casual, minimalist look or a much bolder, subversive style, you can now use this slider to achieve the perfect result.
Quests and open world
We’ve reworded the objectives for quests requiring you to wait a certain amount of time before continuing. In certain situations, the game is designed to force players to continue progressing in order to trigger the next event, without them having the option to move forward in time to go faster.
- Cyberpsycho Spotted: Where Men Come to Die – Fixed a bug where no shards could be picked up from the cyberpsycho’s body, blocking progression.
- Dream On – The Trauma Team Navi on the roof will now be properly camouflaged in stealth mode.
- Heroes – Fixed a bug where the quest would remain open in the Journal, even if completed, with the objectives “Talk to Padre.” and “Talking to the Valentinos.”.
Phantom Liberty specific changes
- Balls to the Wall – Fixed a bug preventing V from exiting the elevator and talking to Yuri due to an invisible wall.
- Firestarter – Fixed a bug preventing fast travel if you saved the game shortly after getting out of Reed’s car.
- Contract: Waiting for Dodger – Once released, Bill and Charles will now behave more cautiously and avoid running over Dodger’s men, to prevent unnecessary confrontations.
- Hi Ho Silver Lining – The VIP section of the Heavy Hearts Club will now be accessible for players who were unable to meet Mr. Hands because they did not have the required keycard to use the elevator.
- I’ve Seen That Face Before – The garage door preventing players from reaching the meeting point will now be open.
- Run This Town – The elevator at the Heavy Hearts club is operational again and V can finally meet Mr. Hands.
- Somewhat Damaged – Fixed a bug preventing the prompt to unplug the system cables from the neural network from displaying.
- The Killing Moon – Fixed a bug causing a wall to block the path when V was carrying Songbird to the shuttle.
Gameplay
- Fixed one of the katana finishing move animations so that enemies are correctly decapitated.
- The RAM cost reduction bonus from the Iconic Synaptic Overdrive and Iconic System Collapse quickhacks will now be correctly applied.
- The icons for the Faceplate linked to a level 5+ and 5++ behavioral imprint will now be visible on the HUD when driving.
- Fixed a bug where Synaptic Accelerator would remain active for an indefinite period if the player was detected outside of combat.
- The horn will no longer sound when reloading a weapon with the controller during a vehicle combat.
- Fixed a bug where NCPD officers would no longer behave as expected when V intervened in a shootout between the Voodoo Boys and the Trauma Team in Pacifica.
Divers
- Fixed a bug where the sound of a TV program was cut off or too low.
- Fixed a bug where CrystalCoat™ was not applied correctly to the body when V entered a vehicle.
- By popular demand, we have lowered the high scores for the Trauma Drama mini-game.
- We adjusted V’s mouth movements in several scenes, especially the ending scenes.
- Fixed a bug where the voiceover was interrupted when announcing Ebunike Station on the NCART subway.
- Fixed shadows using ray tracing for V in photo mode.
PC specific modifications
- You will now be able to link the W and S keys to actions other than those configured by default in the Vehicle category.
