Donald Trump: “the priority is to resolve the Ukraine problem with Russia”, but the Syrians “will have to fend for themselves”

During his visit to Paris to attend the reopening of Notre-Dame, Donald Trump affirmed that his international priority was to resolve the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. “There are a lot of crises in the world,” he said in an exclusive interview with Paris Match published this Wednesday, December 11.

“The priority is to resolve the Ukraine problem with Russia. These two countries are suffering incredible human losses. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers are killed,” explained the former real estate magnate.

In the Middle East “it’s a less difficult situation to manage”

On his Truth Social network, he had already called for an “immediate ceasefire and negotiations”. “Too many lives have been lost in vain, too many families have been destroyed,” he insisted.

Regarding other international crises, Donald Trump downplayed the urgency of the situation in Syria, saying that “we will have to fend for ourselves because we are not involved there, and neither is France.” He added: ” The Middle East is also important, but I think it's a less difficult situation to deal with than Ukraine and Russia.”
