“The twelfth level maintains the characteristic geometry of the tower, with triangular windows that follow the paraboloid shapes typical of Gaudí’s design “, specified those responsible for the project. It is also the last stage where stone remains the main material, since the terminal will incorporate various decorative elements in trencadís, a mosaic typical of Catalan modernism.
Inside, the tower features a stone staircase that gradually widens as you climb, while the silhouette of the tower narrows. This combination of shapes creates “ a unique architectural effect » particularly on this twelfth level where the interior staircase joins the interior wall of the tower.
Massive tourism causing problems
On the other hand, Barcelona City Hall, led by Jaume Collboni, announced that it would invest 15.5 million euros in the Action Plan for the Busy Area (EGA) of the Sagrada Família.
