Nathalie Marquay moved by her son for a symbolic day

On March 2, 2022, Jean-Pierre Pernaut passed away at the age of 72, leaving behind a family, his wife Nathalie Marquay, their children Tom and Lou, and his children born from a previous union: Julia and Olivier. Almost two years after his death, his widow, a former beauty queen, remembers a crucial day in their lives: their meeting. The former TF1 presenter and Miss 1987 met 23 years ago, on December 8, 2001, during the famous beauty contest, where Sylvie Tellier was elected. To mark the importance of this day, their son, Tom Pernaut, gave his mother a beautiful gift.

In a story on Instagram, this Sunday, December 8, 2024, Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut showed the surprise that her son had in store for her. She published a photo of a beautiful bouquet of red roses enhanced by eucalyptus leaves, in a vase, with a small white ribbon and a word: “Happy birthday mom”. Very touched by the gesture of the 21-year-old young man, the 57-year-old actress wrote on the image: “Oh my loving Tom gave me a surprise for our anniversary of meeting my man. Extremely touching, thank you my son”

«The meeting of our love», Nathalie Marquay shares a touching memory

The election of Miss France, which will take place on December 14 at Futuroscope this year, has a special place in the heart of Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut. If she had not won the crown, she would surely never have met the man she still calls today “My love“. On Instagram, in stories and on her profile, she wanted to highlight the day of her meeting with her husband and father of her two children. 23 years to the day after their meeting, the beauty queen shared a video of this moment, which was broadcast on television.

To caption the few images, she simply wrote: “The meeting of our love, December 8, 2001 for the election of Sylvie Tellier. 23 years my love, happiness, happy birthday.” In the short video, we can see Nathalie Marquay and Jean-Pierre Pernaut, at the dawn of their love story, sitting next to each other. While on stage, Geneviève de Fontenay and Jean-Pierre Foucault tease the TF1 presenter because he chose to sit next to a former Miss France.
