The Champions League match between Stade Brestois and PSV Eindhoven, scheduled for Tuesday, December 10 at 9 p.m. at the Roudourou stadium, promises to be under close surveillance. Classified at level 4 risk by the National Division for the Fight against Hooliganism (DNLH), it mobilizes an imposing security logistics, reinforced by prefectural decrees to prevent any disturbance to public order.
A risky meeting, exceptional measures
The Côtes-d'Armor prefecture has decided to take drastic measures for the arrival of the 900 Dutch supporters expected. The prefect issued two specific orders:
- Overflight ban : Between Tuesday, December 10 at 8 a.m. and Wednesday, December 11 at the same time, any overflight of unmanned aircraft is prohibited, except for aircraft chartered by the State or emergency services. Violators face up to one year of imprisonment and a fine of €75,000.
- Ban on flammable and pyrotechnic products : In all 57 municipalities of Guingamp-Paimpol Agglomération, the sale, transport and use of flammable or explosive products, including pyrotechnic articles, are strictly prohibited over the same period. Only approved people can use it for professional purposes.
Mobilization of law enforcement and logistical adjustments
Next to 350 gendarmescompared to 274 during a previous match, will be deployed to supervise the event, a notable increase in numbers. This reinforcement illustrates the authorities' desire to ensure a secure environment, both in the stadium and in the surrounding area.
Due to the Christmas market located at Place du Centre, the meeting point for Dutch supporters was moved to the Public Garden. Although the place does not have a drinking establishment, exceptional authorizations have been granted to local traders to install refreshment stands in front of their establishments. The traditional « fan walk »march of Dutch supporters towards the stadium, will begin between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The authorities remain particularly attentive to the reputation of PSV Eindhoven supporters, regularly involved in violent incidents, as evidenced by an order taken by the Ministry of the Interior before their meeting with PSG last October. Gatherings linked to these supporters are often classified as high risk by the DNLH, which explains the level of vigilance.
Stade Brestois, which is playing in Guingamp for this European meeting, is hoping for a festive atmosphere in the stands despite the tensions linked to security. Kick-off at 21h
